Our Bordeaux Selection
Tens of thousands of hectares of vines, thousands of historic châteaux, hundreds of years of history and an incalculable variety of terroirs make Bordeaux the most famous and most culturally important wine region in the world. We don’t have to tell you just how important because if you’re reading this page, the chances are that you are a wine professional and therefore you already have all the latest statistics about the sheer volume and variety of wines on offer.
To many professionals Bordeaux has become synonymous with high prices (the Crus Classés that sell en primeur every spring grab most of the headlines) and tough-dealing traders. At the other end of the scale are cheaper brands and cooperative wines that do not excite the palate. But the region deserves another, closer look and for a new wave of engaged consumers who are looking for better wines without paying the earth, Bordeaux is becoming hugely popular once again.
We aim to help you reconnect with this remarkable region by presenting a comprehensive, balanced range of great-value Bordeaux wines that will make you stop and re-evaluate what Bordeaux can do for your business, but without flooding you with limitless options. We believe a few carefully-selected producers from each zone can suffice, and the more affordable appellations contrôlées of Médoc, Graves and the Côtes feature more heavily than, say, Pauillac and Pomerol. It’s such a huge task that even after a number of years we are still working on this core part of our range and the offer will develop and grow, so if you don’t find what you need let us know.
Offering different vintages of all the Crus Classés and other top names is not what we are about; in the current climate there is less long-term strategic business-building to be achieved in that market for most distributors. However, we do have access to these wines, so feel free to ask us for an offer.
